On November 8, 2010, CARF (the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities), advised the management that MOSAIC was successful in meeting organizational, client-level and program standards, as assessed by five CARF surveyors who conducted an on-site review from October 4 to 6, 2010.
This high-level accreditation was the culmination of an extensive two-year process. “MOSAIC’s committed staff has worked hard to continue enhancing the quality of services provided to clients,” said Brook Greenberg, President of MOSAIC’s Board of Directors. CARF standards were used to strengthen and inform best practices throughout the organization.
The accreditation process applies sets of standards to service areas and business practices during an on-site survey. Accreditation, however, is an ongoing process, signaling to the public that a service provider is committed to continuously improving services, encouraging feedback, and serving the community. Accreditation also demonstrates a provider’s commitment to enhance its performance, manage its risk, and distinguish its service delivery.
“We are very excited to have reached this milestone of quality assurance of client service” says Eyob Naizghi, MOSAIC’s Executive Director. The organization’s ongoing plan is to continue the improvement process and actively apply the lessons learned to ensure quality of services to the communities we serve. As one of our dedicated staff stated, “MOSAIC is so much better, healthier and stronger…” as a result of this professional process.
CARF-accredited service providers are revisited every 3 years by a team of CARF–selected practitioners to ensure that the rigorous and internationally recognized standards required are being maintained.
