Fadi Yachoua is a principal lawyer and co-founder of Embarkation Law Corporation in Vancouver where he practices Canadian immigration, refugee and citizenship law. He immigrated to Canada about 20 years ago, and he has lived, studied and worked in different cities across the country, which gives him a personal and intimate understanding of the challenges and benefits of immigrating and establishing a new life in Canada.
After completing his undergraduate studies in physics and astronomy at York University, Fadi discovered his passion for immigration and refugee law while working at the University of Ottawa’s Refugee Forum/Human Rights Centre. He began his legal career practising civil litigation at a national law firm in Toronto, including a secondment with the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health representing physicians at the Consent and Capacity Board. Fadi is a frequent speaker at legal and community events, as well as a media commentator who advocates for the rights of migrants and refugees.
