Employment Services in BC

The Career Paths for Skilled Immigrants program provides employment services in BC so you can use your education and skills to get a job.  We support immigrants skilled in the accounting, marketing, advertising, public relations, and business consulting fields.

You will get support through career advice, workshops, and connections to find work in your field.

Eligibility

To join this employment services program you must be:

  • A permanent resident (10 years or less)
  • Unemployed or underemployed
  • Living anywhere in BC

  • A skilled immigrant: 1+ years related experience

  • Have English level: CLB 5+

Program Description

Stream 1: Business

The program is for people needing Canadian work experience in business. This includes

  • Financial Auditors and Accountants
  • Accounting Technicians and Bookkeepers
  • Professional Occupations in Business Management Consulting
  • Professional Occupations in Advertising, Marketing and Public Relations

This program is open to permanent residents with CLB 5+.

New immigrants to Canada can get online or in-person support for employment-related questions. Services are available during the day and evening as needed.

All skilled clients in this program will receive:

  • Career planning
  • Funded skills and academic upgrading
  • Local skills assessments
  • Professional membership referrals
  • Networking
  • Workshops
  • Work experience and mentorship

Some clients will also get Occupation Specific Language Training (OSLT).
