About this program
The Community Outreach and Advocacy program provides support to immigrant and refugee communities by helping develop skills, knowledge and experience of individuals and groups.
The purpose is to enable communities to undertake initiatives of their own to face social, economic, political and environmental problems and also to fully participate in a truly democratic process.
Through a variety of projects and initiatives, the program promotes integration, leadership, and participation within immigrant and refugee communities. Community Outreach staff work to create links between immigrant communities and society at large. They also regularly participate in conferences and events to raise awareness of the challenges that immigrants and refugees face.
