About this Program
The Surrey Project for Refugee Families provides services related to settlement, employment and language skills for refugee families. Clients who visit the centre will receive individual assessment and be provided with information and referrals for assistance. Adults, youth and children are all welcome.
At our Surrey office, you can join other newcomers in English conversation circles, find information about Canadian workplaces and employment standards, learn how to job search and receive settlement assistance. Settlement support includes workshops on a wide variety of topics that will help you to understand how things work in your new community, and adapt more easily to your new life in Canada.
Available Services
- Workshops topics include: housing, schooling, transportation, budgeting, citizenship, job-search skills, childcare benefits, medical services, income tax, and more!
- English conversation circles
- Support groups
- Short-term literacy class for women (with childminding support)
Available Languages
Services are available in English, Arabic and French.

Who is eligible?
The Surrey Project for Refugee Families is available to Refugee Claimants, Temporary Foreign Workers, Citizens and Permanent Residents including: Government- Assisted Refugees, Privately- Sponsored Refugees and Blended-Visa Refugees.
